Welcome To My Game Design Blog

Thanks for joining me on my new venture as a (drum roll, please) game design blogger! This is a new thing for me. I’ve never written a blog before. Let me start by explaining why I’m doing it.

Well, I love board and card games of all sorts. Therefore I’m excited to help spread the word about games I’ve enjoyed so that others can discover them, too. In my own small way, I’m hoping this blog will serve as a contribution to helping support the hobby I love. I won’t be doing full-on game reviews, but I will be sharing my thoughts and experiences about games I play. Thankfully I have four or five different gaming groups, and each group is into different stuff, so there should be a pretty diverse range of games – everything from heavy Euros to party games to light fillers to skirmish-type games, you name it! Those will be tagged “Another Game Night” on future entries if you’re interested to see what I’ve been playing lately.

Also, I’m a fledgling game designer and I’ll be sharing my design successes, failures, ideas, thoughts and random ramblings along the way. I think it’s always great to get a new perspective, so hopefully my point of view will inspire other newbie designers who are looking to get their foot in the door in this industry. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, those topics will be tagged “Prototypes & Ideas.”

Additionally, for those who have any interest in my game designs and their life cycle, I’ll be keeping you up-to-date on any progress that occurs, tagged “Published Stuff” and “In Development.” I’m hoping to be able to give some advanced glimpses into cool things that are on the horizon, so considered this blog your inside scoop!

Plus, I am always open to starting a dialogue or brainstorming with others about games and game design. I can’t get enough of it, quite frankly, so perhaps with this blog I’ll find some new friends, contacts, fellow designers and maybe even a few fans of my games!

I look forward to it. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
